    Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made coverings bonded to the fronts of teeth. They can improve selected concerns with color, shape, size, or minor cosmetic irregularities.

    Planning starts with an evaluation of the teeth and gums and a discussion of your goals. The dentist prepares the teeth as needed, records their shape, and arranges for the veneers to be made. Preparation often removes enamel, so this is usually an irreversible treatment.

    At the fitting appointment, the veneers are checked and bonded. The teeth beneath them still need daily care and examinations. Veneers may chip, wear, loosen, or eventually require replacement; suitability depends on your bite and oral health.
